no solution to banning third party apps

why can you link accounts on the desktop version of AIM but not in your app yet? the inability to use third party apps (beejive, etc) at the end of march wouldnt have been as awful as it was if we could link. ive tried to contact AOL a couple times the last month and a half and have yet to get an answer. real great customer service.
